Description: Daryl Davis will provide an overview of racial issues in the United States leading up to the recent prominent cases of police violence against George Floyd and others, which sparked demonstrations in the U.S., New Zealand and around the world. Davis will share his unique experiences addressing racism, and will answer questions from participants on this topic.


Daryl Davis is an expert on race relations and the author of “Klan-Destine Relationships: A Black Man’s Odyssey through the Ku Klux Klan.” Davis has spent much of his life trying to understand and stop racism, including engaging Klan members to help find common ground across racial lines. These dialogues resulted in many Klan members giving up their robes. Davis is the subject of the award-winning documentary “Accidental Courtesy.”
